Ideas

Looking at producing a pattern that rain creates.. the spirals of water in puddles.. need to really exhaust how this pattern can be changed, using colour and where the spiral are laid out, so it stands out but shows the beauty of rain.. 

I have made the text 'flow' around the circles, making the reader read from top to bottom, maybe look at a better hierarchy with text.. making the date a bit bolder so it stands out more..

I want the colours to really pop out, as if it was a spring shower, rather than a winter, miserable shower..

Not keen on the black background, wanted to see how the colours stood out with the black, contrast..

Putting a brush on the circle to make it a bit less 'line..'

Publication Layouts..

The use of using an image to go across a double page spread and the text in white or another colour really stands out and is effective.
Also the use of a top and bottom border so the text isn't floating in space.



The use of white space in the publication.. this is something that we need to bare in mind as for fine art it is all about the work, and we don't want it looking to busy.


Having the quoted text a considerably a lot larger than the other text is really nice to read. There is a lot that can be played around with here too.



Very image based.. this is far too busy for the type of publication we are doing, but I like the look of it for magazine type publication.



Again.. dark background with text coming through.. too many images for fine art yearbook.



I like the idea of having a full image on one spread that bleeds over onto the page, again with different sized text..

Brief

I'm thinking of having a go at this poster brief, as a break from work I am doing at the moment, maybe just spend two days tops doing it..

Ideas.. just brainstorming really..

The typeface would need to be bigger in order for the child to go along with the parent reading.. maybe having the story going around objects or characters in the story may keep them interested.. or maybe make the typeface a bit more illustrative.. making the letters into patterns.. having patterns in the typeface.. needs to be legible..

Business Cards

Some new ideas for my business card.. looking at the NJ initials, and how they can be used to create a pattern..

Again looking at how type can be shown, using different material such as food.. Could be really interesting to see how Peter Rabbit can be translated in this way..

I really like the cut out paper design here.. and it is quite child like which relates to my children's book brief. Could be something else I look into..
